Smartpractice is a early years consultancy with a difference… the difference being that we have run a large exemplary working nursery which has operated at an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ level for many years winning numerous awards including;

  • Overall winner of NDNA (National Day Nursery Association) UK Nursery of the Year Award 2018
  • Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ nursery for the past 20 years (last 4 inspections)
  • NDNA Quality Counts accreditation at the highest platinum level
  • Millie’s Mark Award – Excellence in Paediatric First Aid

As early years consultants we have an excellent knowledge of all aspects of operating an outstanding setting, a full understanding of all current legislation including the requirements of Ofsted, local councils and central government, alongside exceptional business and financial experience within the childcare sector.

Annie Silcock, one of the Directors of Smartpractice owned and managed a 100 plus place nursery, and a 40 place holiday club, which was established over 30 years ago and was graded as outstanding in all areas by Ofsted under the new EYFS Inspection Framework introduced in September 2019.

Working with clients across the UK, Smartpractice works with individuals and organisations to set up new nurseries of the highest quality and improve existing settings with support and training to achieve Ofsted outstanding. We offer consultancy in all aspects of childcare provision from education and care, to business administration and financial planning through our bespoke consultancy and training service.

Case Study and Testimonial

“As UCAS embarked on the delivery of a nursery, we needed impartial and expert advice to support and guide us through the maze of legislation, business operations and delivery of an in-house nursery solution. After a competitive tender, SmartPractice were selected.

SmartPractice have and continue to provide invaluable support to the project and guided us through some difficult decisions. Running a nursery is certainly not our core business and SmartPractice have understood this and provide reassurance and at times challenge to our decision making.”
